Background
Experience and perspective
For more than 20 years, I have worked at the intersection of writing, research, journalism and public affairs. I work in Arabic, English, Swedish and Bulgarian, and my international experience has shaped a practical, cross-cultural approach to complex political and social questions.
As an author, I have published fiction and nonfiction books through global platforms including Apple Books, Amazon and Lulu. My work examines social inequality, displacement, human resilience and moral responsibility, reflecting a broader commitment to ethical writing and socially conscious storytelling.
As a journalist and commentator, I have contributed to Gulf and Balkan media, including The National in the UAE and the regional platform Lobiranje.eu. My articles address geopolitics, economic affairs, media and governance, with analysis grounded in international experience and regional knowledge.
My research and advisory background includes work with academic and media institutions across Europe and the MENA region. I have led strategic communications teams, managed research on political and cultural transformation, and contributed to initiatives concerning climate media, reconciliation, democratic governance and public awareness.
My academic roots are in Arabic and Slavic studies, with advanced training at the University of Gothenburg in Sweden, where I also lectured on Arab literature and language.

My work as an author, researcher and communications adviser is shaped by professional discipline and a commitment to human dignity.
1. Words shape reality
Language is not neutral. It can liberate or obscure, illuminate or mislead. I believe in the power of words to question authority, awaken consciousness and move society toward justice. Writing is not simply an act of recording; it is an act of responsibility.
2. Knowledge must be relevant
Research is meaningful only when it speaks to people’s lived experiences. I approach every study with the aim of producing insights that inform policy, improve institutions and empower people in real-world contexts.
3. Journalism is a civic duty
I view journalism as a form of public service. It should uncover truth, amplify marginalised voices and hold power to account. Facts matter, as does the integrity with which they are gathered and presented.
4. Culture is foundational
Political and economic systems cannot be understood without acknowledging the cultural settings in which they operate. My work across different regions has taught me that cultural awareness is essential to effective communication and meaningful reform.
5. Ethics are not optional
Whether advising public institutions, managing media projects or publishing books, I insist on clarity, honesty and ethical consistency. I do not engage in work that compromises integrity, regardless of reward or recognition.
6. Listening is a form of leadership
In every team I have led, I prioritise listening before speaking. Leadership is not measured by authority, but by the ability to understand others and create space for collaborative solutions. Respect is earned through presence, not position.
7. Inaction can be harmful
In many contexts, inaction protects injustice and prolongs suffering. I choose to speak, write and act in ways that resist indifference and give form to what others hesitate to name.
